CINEMANIA accompagne Noah Parker aux États-Unis
CINEMANIA renouvelle son association avec le festival américain Focus on French Cinema dont la 14e édition débute ce vendredi.

Du 27 avril au 1er mai, 22 films francophones seront présentés en première, accompagnés par une quinzaine d’invités qui prendront part à des tables rondes et des échanges avec les spectateurs des villes de Greenwich et Stamford au Connecticut, ainsi qu’à Manhattan dans les prestigieux locaux de la FIAF (French Institute Alliance Française).
PLEIN FEUX SUR LE COMÉDIEN QUÉBÉCOIS NOAH PARKER
Comme le veut la tradition, CINEMANIA accompagnera sur place des talents québécois. Et cette année particulièrement, le festival montréalais a souhaité insister sur la relève en choisissant de faire découvrir aux spectateurs américains un jeune comédien prometteur : Noah Parker, co-vedette du long-métrage AILLEURS qui sera présenté à Focus on French Cinema cette année.
Dans ce film réalisé par Samuel Matteau, Noah Parker interprète un adolescent fragile fuyant son existence morose à Québec pour aller vivre en Californie. AILLEURS est le premier rôle important de Noah dans un long métrage, unanimement remarqué par la critique à sa sortie en salles.
Noah Parker est l’acteur principal de PAUVRE GEORGES, le film très attendu de Claire Devers produit par Dominique Besnehard qui sortira à l’automne 2018. Depuis 2013, Noah interprète Sacha dans la populaire série 30 VIES. Il tient également des rôles dans les séries québécoises AU SECOURS DE BÉATRICE et PRÉMONITIONS. Il a fait plusieurs apparitions dans des clips-vidéo de Céline Dion et d’Indochine (COLLEGE BOY réalisé par Xavier Dolan).
LE CINÉMA QUÉBÉCOIS À L’HONNEUR
Pour représenter le Québec à Greenwich, CINEMANIA a également choisi de projeter HOCHELAGA, TERRE DES ÂMES de François Girard, qui a remporté 4 Canadian Screen Awards et 10 nominations dans la course au Gala Iris (Meilleur rôle de soutien masculin, direction artistique, direction de la photographie, son, effets visuels, musique originale, costumes, maquillage, coiffure, film s’étant le plus illustré à l’extérieur du Québec).
CINEMANIA est aussi fier d’accompagner sur place deux films mettant en vedette la comédienne québécoise Suzanne Clément : LE SENS DE LA FÊTE d’Olivier Nakache et Éric Tolédano et LE RIRE DE MA MÈRE de Colombe Savignac et Pascal Ralite.
À noter que dans le reste de la sélection du FFC 2018, seront présentés plusieurs films ayant fait leur première à CINEMANIA en novembre dernier : JEUNE FEMME de Léonor Serraille, AU-REVOIRLÀ-HAUT d’Albert Dupontel, LE REDOUTABLE de Michel Hazanavicius, et PRENDRE LE LARGE de Gaël Morel.

CINEMANIA ACCOMPANIES NOAH PARKER TO THE US
CINEMANIA is renewing it’s association with the American Film Festival ”Focus on French Cinema” that will launch it’s 14th edition at the end of this week.

From April27th to May 1st, 22 Francophone films will be premiered, accompanied by close to 15 guests who will participate in a « round table discussion » with audiences from Greenwich and Stamford Connecticut, as well as in Manhattan’s most prestigious venue FIAF (French Alliance Institute).
A HUGE BUZZ AROUND QUEBEC ACTOR NOAH PARKER
As in previous years, CINEMANIA will accompany talented Quebec guests and will delight American audiences with new young and talented actor Noah Parker co-staring in the feature film SQUAT (AILLEURS) premiering at « Focus on French Cinema« .
In this film directed by Samuel Matteau, Noah Parker plays a fragile adolescent who leaves his boring life in Quebec City to live in California. AILLEURS is Noah Parkers’ first important role in a feature film which had rave reviews by the critics.
Since 2013, Noah plays the part of Sacha in the popular Quebec series 30 VIES as well as AU SECOURS DE BEATRICE and PRÉMONITIONS. He made several appearances notably in video clips of Céline Dion and Indochine (College Boy directed by Xavier Dolan). He plays the principal role in POOR GEORGES (PAUVRES GEORGES), directed by Claire Devers and produced by Dominique Besnehard. The audience is anxiously awaiting its release in the fall of 2018.
QUEBEC CINEMA WILL BE HONOURED
Representing Quebec at Greenwich, CINEMANIA also included in this years’ program, HOCHELAGA, TERRES DES ÂMES directed by François Girard who won 4 Canadian Screen Awards and 10 nominations, at the Gala Iris Competition (for best supporting male actor, artistic directior, director of photography, sound and visual effects, original music, costumes, make-up, and hair styling, as well as best recognition outside Quebec).
CINEMANIA is also very proud to accompany 2 films produced in France starring Quebec actress Suzanne Clément: C’EST LA VIE (LE SENS DE LA FÊTE) directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, and MY MOTHER’S LAUGH (LE RIRE DE MA MÈRE) directed by Colombe Savignac and Pascal Larite.
Several films presented as premieres at CINEMANIA November 2017 are part of the selection for 2018 at « Focus on French Cinema »: JEUNE FEMME directed by Leonor Serraille, SEE YOU UP THERE (AU REVOIR LA HAUT) directed by Albert Dupontel, GODARD MON AMOUR (LE REDOUTABLE) by Michel Hazanavicius, and CATCH THE WIND (PRENDRE LE LARGE) by Gaël Morel.
