« 20 ans dans la vie d’un Festival du Film Black, c’est comme 100 ans!!! Accueillir le légendaire Spike Lee pour la 4e fois au Festival Intl du Film Black de Montréal et comme Président d’honneur de la 20e édition cette année est un véritable privilège et un énorme coup de maître pour le Festival et pour Montréal !
Nous espérons aider la prochaine génération de cinéastes à repousser les limites et à faire entendre leur voix pour tout ce en quoi ils croient.
Et quel privilège de pouvoir continuer à montrer des œuvres exceptionnelles qui ne bénéficient pas toujours de l’éclairage des projecteurs ; partager des réalités méconnues ; démystifier des tabous ; favoriser des rencontres professionnelles ; provoquer des changements systémiques dans l’industrie et contribuer à faire avancer le cinéma indépendant – tout en célébrant la diversité à l’écran. « 20 years in the life of a Black Film Festival feels like 100 years!!! Welcoming the iconic Spike Lee for the 4th time at the Montreal Intl Black Film Festival and as the Honorary President of the 20th edition this year is a true privilege and quite a coup for the Festival and for Montréal!
We hope to inspire the next generation of filmmakers to push the envelope and raise their voices for everything they believe in! And what a privilege to be able to continue to showcase exceptional work that doesn’t always make it to the silver screen.
